As we come to the end of festival season, there has been little for Kentish revellers to celebrate, with two major events cancelled in quick succession – first Sevenoak’s ‘Southbeats’ festival, then perennial Broadstairs favourite ‘Wheels and Fins.’
But despite the autumn downpour, work is well underway to transform Lydd Airport on Romney Marsh into the site of a brand new dance music festival – ‘Connected’.
The inaugural event, touted by organiser Rohan Mulvaney as the ‘biggest dance music festival in the South’, starts at 6 pm on Saturday and will include 12 hours of drum and bass, garage, house and dance music, with music fans raving it up until the early hours of the morning.
A packed lineup of the hottest DJs will feature performances across the festival’s five stages, including sets by Wilkinson, DJ Hazard, Kings of the Rollers, Problem Central & Heartless Crew.
The entertainment doesn’t stop there, with fire-eaters, break-dancers providing a carnival atmosphere, whilst a big cinema screen will showcase festival footage to get everyone in the party mood.
A number of food and drink options will be available, meaning all you have to do is book a ticket. Whether you’re looking to make a weekend of it, or just find somewhere quiet to relax and recuperate, we have a number of local properties available. Book your ideal stay today.
